    Matt Heafy - Trivium

With pretty much every concert being called off in the immediate future, artist have begun turning to new ways to still engage with their fans. Code Orange recently live-streamed their planned hometown launch show via Twitch, and now Trivium frontman Matt Heafy is tapping into his established Twitch channel to play full sets for fans who are missing out on Trivium's cancelled live shows.

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the band's 2005 album AscendancyHeafy played the entire record over a backing track to a live chat, stopping between songs to offer bits of information about the album to fans. Around halfway through, Heafy had this to say on the current situation:

"15 years ago I never imagined that I'd be live-streaming The Ascendancy because we're all social distancing and semi-quarantining because of a new virus, but here we are. And you know what, we're gonna overcome this because we can. I think both extremes are a little much...I think those who think this is the end of the world are wrong, and those who think it's not as serious as the flu - it's more serious, the death rate's higher. Don't freakin' clean out the supermarkets, think more about your community."

Make yourself a cup of coffee or tea, get cosy and hang with Heafy (the set begins at around the 32:50 mark):

Trvium have a brand new record called What The Dead Men say out on April 24 - check out the new single 'Catastrophist'!
