Ocean Grove Share Nu-Metal Inspired Single 'My Disaster'

Ocean Grove have shared a nu-metal-inspired new single My Disaster. Released today under their recently launched label Oddworld Records, My Disaster arrives accompanied not only by an official video, but by the news that the beloved Aussie band have signed a deal with SharpTone Records for markets outside of Australia.

GWAR have reworked Ryan Gosling's emo rock ballad I'm Just Ken from the Barbie movie, performing We're Just GWAR, for AV Club. The first guests to take up the challenge of performing an unexpected cover for the relaunch of the pop-culture publication's iconic cover series Undercover (think triple j's Like A Version, but in the USA), GWAR went all-in on the segment, penning new self-referential lyrics to the song and beefing up the instrumentation with some shock rock chops. As for why the band agreed to the challenge, it seems it came down to vocalist BL0thr's longstanding love for Ryan Gosling.

Story Of The Year are headed out to Australia next month to honour the 20th anniversary of their iconic debut full-length Page Avenue. Joined on the road by Senses Fail (celebrating 20 years of Let It Enfold You) and returning local heroes Behind Crimson Eyes, the tour promises to be a celebration of all that was great about the post-hardcore in the early-mid '00s. 

Ahead of the St.Louis superstar's arrival down under, we caught up for a nostalgic chat with drummer Josh Wills, reflecting on the band's strong connection with Australian audiences, the enduring legacy of Page Avenue and the friendship at the core of their ongoing success. 

Coheed And Cambria & Periphery To Headline 2024 Monolith Festival

Coheed and Cambria (USA) and Periphery (USA) are set to headline the 2024 edition of the Australian prog festival Monolith. The prog giants will be joined by Leprous (NOR), Intervals (CAN) and Novelists (FRA) when the single-stage festival hits Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in November. Locals Silver Fang will also feature in Brisbane and Melbourne. Workshops, panels, market stalls and DJs will be added to further enhance the festival experience for Australian prog fans, turning the venues into a progtopia.
