Trivium and Ibaraki frontman Matt Heafy and YouTube metal mashup monolith Anthony Vincent have joined forces on a video so metal it will tear you asunder. The two metal titans have teamed up to mash the two biggest beneficiaries of the 'Stranger Things bump', Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) by Kate Bush and Master Of Puppets by Metallica into an 80s thrash anthem. Unsurpisingly, given the interpretive talent of the talents in question, it rules, with the track ripping harder than Eddie Munson in the Stranger Things season 4 finale.  Check out their version of the song, which also features Steve Terreberry below.

Incredibly, it is Vincent's second brilliant cover of the Kate Bush classic this month, having released a version of the song in the style of Killswitch Engage a few weeks ago. Both of those versions slap and deserve to sit alongside  this list of the five best metal and rock covers of Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)

Heafy is also no slouch to the mash-up game, the Trivium and Ibaraki frontman and solo artist has released a metal cover of Surface Pressure from Disney's Encanto. Heafy teams up with YouTube metal maestro Jonathan Young on the metal version of the cheerful earworm, which you can view below and what they've come up with together, rips, rips, rips.

Heafy, who has signed a solo record deal with longtime Trivium home, Roadrunner Records,  is clearly quite the fan of the Netflix series The Witcher as well, having posted a cover of Toss A Coin To Your Witcher from season one of the show. You can watch that cover below.

Trivium released their 10th full-length album In The Court Of The Dragon in October. We spoke to bass player Paulo Gregoletto about making the album and he filled us in on everything else that had been going on in the Trivium camp in 2021.
