Influential mathcore outfit Botch have shared their first new song in over 20 years, One Twenty Two. The long-awaited drop follows the band's recent signing to Sargent House records. We had all been led to believe that deal was for the purposes of reissuing old material only, so the arrival of a new song has caught the mathcore and metalcore community by genuine surprise.

One Twenty Two is immediately identifiable as a Botch track, with the classic blend of David Knudson's signature tone and Dave Velleron's voice feeling as vital and inspired as ever. The rhythms of bassist Brian Cook (Russian Circles) and drummer Tim Latona absolutely crush too. The result is a track that sounds like it leapt out of the early 2000s, in the best possible way. Check it out for yourself below.

    Botch - One Twenty Two

For the uninitiated, Botch are considered a major influence on the modern mathcore and metalcore styles. Their final album, We Are The Romans has been cited as a core influence by Architects, Cancer Bats, Norma Jean and Underoath amongst countless others.

The release of One Twenty Two has created heavy speculation of a new album and a live return, however, there is no official information available at this stage.
