Two of the early '00s' biggest heavy acts have combined forces live. Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix joined Evanescence during their set at the German festival Rock am Ring, to perform a dynamic duet with Amy Lee on Bring Me To Life.
Shaddix absolutely crushed both the rap and harmony parts performed by 12 Stones Paul McCoy on the iconic single from Evanescence's enormous debut full-length Fallen.
Watch fan-footage of the Shaddix performance below.
Last year Lee joined Tenacious D live for a two-song performance at the Louder Than Life festival. Lee got up with the band to provide her unique take on the songs Kyle Quit The Band and naturally, Lee.
Evanescence recently announced an Australian tour. With a history of special guests joining them live, it'll be interesting to see who pops up to join them when they bring their celebrated live show to Australia for the first time since 2018 in August and September. That tour will see them treat audiences in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth to a special run of shows commemorating the 20th anniversary of Fallen.
The recipient of multiple Grammy Awards, Fallen remains one of the most influential albums of its era. A critical and commercial triumph, Fallen’s lush and gloomy beauty memorably blends symphonic elements with goth, rock, metal and hooks aplenty, while also garnering significant attention for lead singles Bring Me to Life, Going Under, My Immortal and Everybody’s Fool.
While the album has gone on to be included in the likes of Rolling Stone’s ‘The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time’ and praise lauded for vocalist Amy Lee’s macabre tinge that set the band apart from their nu-metal contemporaries at the time, Fallen also ultimately set the scene for a long-term legacy from the Arkansas-hailing group, who are now in command of five studio albums including 2021’s powerful and intimate outing The Bitter Truth which debuted at #3 on the ARIA chart, which marked the band's highest debut in 15 years. The upcoming Australian tour will see the band play highlights from Fallen alongside material drawn from across that catalogue.
Tickets for the tour are onsale via Destroy All Lines.
