It's Friday, Friday, got to get your fresh metal fix on Friday.  That's right Maniacs it is finally Friday which means it is time to kick off the weekend with some Friday Fire

With so many new metal releases dropping every week, it can be hard to know what to listen to, so we've taken it upon ourselves to do the heavy lifting, sorting the 'hell yeah' from the 'hell meh' you don't have to.  So without fear or favour, here are is our Friday Fire: Five New Tracks We're Feeling This Friday.

    Voyager- Dreamer

Perth prog/pop sensations Voyager will take part in Eurovision - Australia Decides on February 26th and today they've released Dreamer the song they are backing to make their Eurovision dreams a reality, and what a song it is. Completely over-the-top all of the best ways, Dreamer immediately proves itself the only rational winner of the upcoming contest. Built around an electro hook and an earworm of vocal melody, Dreamer starts out life on the dancefloor, invoking fellow WA muso's Pendulum, before building intensity and taking off into full-fledged Voyager prog rock terrain.  This is the most Eurovision thing ever, in the best possible way.  Voyager have got our vote.

Ghost - Call Me Little Sunshine

Ghost announced a new album, Impera will drop via Loma Vista Recordings on 11th March yesterday and shared the sublime and haunting Call Me Little Sunshine .  Arriving as a phantasmagoric visual interpretation lensed by iconic director Matt Mahurin and starring Ruby Modine, Call Me Little Sunshine is the second window into Impera following Hunter's Moon which was one of our 30 best metal singles of 2021.

    Part Paladin- Koedal

A thud of heavy, a splash of colour, a brood of mood. Part Paladin is a project created by Sydney-based (Gadigal Land) indigenous instrumentalist/producer Dux Newton. Moving somewhere in the spaces between post-metal, modern progressive metal and alternative rock, Part Paladin blends hard driving rhythms, melodic metal characteristics and pop sensibilities on Koedal (pronounced "kah-dahl") as he tackles personal themes of identity, heritage, and cultural dynamics. This is the sound of Part Paladin announcing himself as one of the most exciting and important emerging talents in the Aussie heavy scene.

    RedHook - Low Budget Horror

Sydney-based alternative-rock force RedHook dropped this diabolical new single Low Budget Horror today and it is arguably their heaviest single to date. Their first-ever self-produced effort, Low Budget Horror delivers a frantic explosion of drum & bass energy, walloping guitar riffs and theatrical, aggressive vocals raised in a blistering war-cry against online bullying.  Fuck yeah.

    Ocean Grove - Silver Lining

Upcoming album Up In The Air Forever finds Ocean Grove leaning into their strengths in the worlds of Brit-rock, pop, grunge and punk and ultimately confirms them as a creative force that can't be tamed. Celebrating personal freedom, expression and creativity, the record is said to be characterised by strong anarchic sentiments and resentment for a system that squashes individualism and anti-"norm" ideas. The PMA infused summer anthem Silver Lining is our second taste of the refreshing new vibe following Cali Sun and its sundrenched melodies and Oasis influenced, stadium-sized chorus are as infectious as they are uplifting. We're into it.
