It's Friday, Friday, got to get your fresh heavy fix on Friday.  That's right Maniacs it is finally Friday which means it is time to kick off the weekend by lighting the Friday Fire

With so many new heavy releases dropping every week, it can be hard to know what to listen to, so we've taken it upon ourselves to do the heavy lifting, sorting the 'hell yeah' from the 'hell meh' you don't have to. Now, let's ignite the Friday Fire!

    SlipknotBone Church

Slipknot shared a surprise new standalone single Bone Church. Streaming now via all digital outlets, Bone Church arrives with an M. Shawn ‘clown’ Crahan-directed video piece titled Yen – Director’s Cut (Bone Church), which finds the multidisciplinary artist and founding member refreshing footage from the band’s Yen music video. It's the perfect way to start the Friday Fire.

    Stand Atlantic- kill[h]er

Stand Atlantic are back with a vengeance. kill[h]er is one of the Aussie rocker's most angst-infused anthems yet. The song, penned in a small hotel room in LA, brings big-time energy and is all about annihilating self-doubt. The song marks Stand Atlantic’s first release of 2023, and is a testament to their powerful year ahead.

Stand Atlantic’s Bonnie Fraser says of the track:

“self-sabotage is a bitch, self-doubt kills and denying good and genuine parts of yourself because you’ve been conditioned to think they’re not good enough is a form of murder. it's a reminder to myself not to give in to that shit. personal growth is important but don’t deny who you are. sometimes I find myself thinking back to who i used to be and missing that person."

RedHook - Off With Your Head

RedHook today unleash their heaviest song yet, Off With Your Head, a crushing, politically-charged rap-metal rave monster powered by venomous lyrics that rage against various types of mob-fuelled injustice, from the conservative war on women's bodies to the dark side of cancel culture.

Singer Emmy Mack explains the inspiration behind the track:

"I wrote the lyrics to 'Off With Your Head' at a time when I was feeling overwhelmed, appalled, and devastated by a number of horrifying injustices going on in the world around me. Over in the US, the overturning of Roe v. Wade robbed women and girls of the fundamental right to make informed decisions about their own bodies, the consequences of which I, along with many others, knew would be deadly and devastating. While in my own backyard, I watched on in horror as cancel culture was weaponised by a sick person with a cruel vendetta to destroy an innocent woman I loved and admired. I felt sick with anger, and powerless to do anything about it, so I poured everything I had into this song."

    Invent Animate - Heavener

Progressive metalcore head-turners Invent Animate  just announced their new album Heavener. To celebrate the good news, the band has shared the video for Immolation of Night. The song boasts stadium-sized, foundation-shaking breakdowns with a twist! The video finds the protagonist entangled in unsettling distress, while the band delivers a back-breaking performance in an eerily monochromatic ensemble.

Drummer Trey Celaya shares "While searching for inspiration to write this song, I had grown tired of recounting past trauma and things that have hurt me and still affect me. It was making me feel powerless, and I wanted to take that power back and approach from a different angle. This song was born of a realization that all of my suffering has actually made me incredibly resilient and grounded, and I am not the weak person that I sometimes feel that I am. In reality, I have a certain confidence in life that I wouldn't have if not for my losses and failures. They've given me a lot of good characteristics and shaped me into who I am today, and it's a person I'm proud of."

Falling In Reverse - Watch The World Burn

Another epic anthem from Falling in Reverse that finds frontman Ronnie Radke laying his lyrical cards up on the table while his vocal style escalates from a rhythmic cadence to an earth-shaking howl.
