Beloved Aussie heavy music festival UNIFY Gathering is going on the road in 2023. Organisers today have announced that their new touring concept Unify Off The Record 2023 will hit Mackay (QLD), Adelaide (SA), Wollongoong (NSW), Hobart (TAS) and Frankston (VIC) in May/June.

Unify Off The Record 2023 features a diverse lineup of Australia's premiere heavy acts including ARIA chart-topping NorthlaneThy Art Is Murder, Thornhill, Make Them Suffer, Teenage Joans, In Hearts Wake, Alpha Wolf, Ocean Grove, Yours Truly, Void Of Vision, Redhook and more.  They are even sneaking an international, in the form of  American deathcore dealers Fit For An Autopsy along for the ride.

Off The Record 2023 will operate as a series of small club shows across five states, with each date featuring a different lineup. The NSW, VIC and SA legs will be run like miniature festivals with 8-10 band lineups, and all five events will include pop up stores, artist signings and workshops before and after doors, with the aim to bring as much of UNIFY on the road as is possible.

Since 2015, UNIFY Gathering has been a staple of the annual heavy music calendar, taking place during 7 of the past 8 years and bringing a diverse roster of local and international acts that celebrate heavy music to Gippsland Victoria.

Commenting on the launch of UNIFY Off The Record, organisers explained that they wanted to do something to fill the void left by the absence of UNIFY Gathering in 2023.

“When we made the decision to skip the 2023 gathering, we knew right away that we wanted to do something to fill the space left. We’ve always been so grateful to all the people who make the annual pilgrimage to Gippsland from all over Australia, and sometimes the world. So this year we thought, why not take the show to the people and try to replicate the vibe, ethos and excitement of UNIFY on a different scale.”

Realising that UNIFY Gathering is considered far more than a music festival by devotees, UNIFY Off The Record endeavours to serve the same community focus and feeling.

UNIFY is obviously a music festival, but it’s also always been an opportunity to bring our heavy music-loving community together to share our experiences and learn. We’re taking that ethos with us on the Off The Record road trip, working alongside APRA AMCOS and Support Act to host some real-talk sessions on everything from songwriting to mental health, and providing exclusive insight into some of the Off The Record artists’ own stories. You’ll also be able to hit up the travelling pop-up merch shop, selling our exclusive UNIFY Off The Record merch and other hard-to-find goodies.”

Tickets will go o sale Wednesday, March 22 at 9am local time.  For complete tour and ticket information, visit: www.unifygathering.com
