American hardcore punk icons The Bronx have announced they are returning to Australia and New Zealand in May for a run of dates with no-fuss West London punk band Chubby And The Gang. The tour will see the two bands hit Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Geelong, Wellington and Auckland!

The Bronx first Aussie tour since 2018 follows the release of their sixth full-length record VI.  Released in August, VI debuted at #16 on the ARIA Albums Chart breaking their previous Australian chart record! The first album to feature new drummer, Joey Castillo (of Queens Of The Stone Age fame)  VI is the sound of The Bronx doing what they do better than any other band on the planet, rocking the fuck out.

Watch the video for Curb Feelers off of VI below.

To get you hyped as fuck for the not so shitty future that awaits us in May, we've put together a playlist of bangers from The Bronx to crank to get yourself and your unsuspecting, post-pandemic body ready to be shaken to the core by one of the world's best live bands, the motherfucking Bronx!

    Heart Attack American (The Bronx,
    2003

One of the best 'track one, side one's  of all time, this frantic heartstarter off of The Bronx debut album absolutely goes off live. Check out the live video from Sydney below for proof, then get ready to scream yourself hoarse with a heartfelt "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!"next year.

They Will Kill Us All (Without Mercy) (The Bronx, 2003)

For a band that has gone balls to the wall for most of their existence, The Bronx write extremely hooky songs and have done since day one. This absolute earworm of an energetic no-holds-barred rocker from their debut album will have us all singing along, without mercy.

     Shitty Future (II, 2006)

Sing it with me, "HERE COME'S YOUR SHITTY FUTURE! ONE MORE TIME YOUR SHITTY FUTURE!"

    History's Stranglers - (II, 2006

If there was any doubt that The Bronx could live up to the frantic energy of their debut it was erased when II dropped. This whole album could make this list, but History's Stranglers blend of melody and mayhem sees it sit alongside Shitty Future as near certainties to be played at every gig by The Bronx from now until the end times. "MOTHERFUCKER I WANT YOUR BLOOD"

    Knifeman (III, 2008)

Following two albums of pure unadulterated hardcore punk energy, broken up only by the brief melodic lament of White Guilt and the Fugazi aping Strobe Life The Bronx experimented a little on III, focussing a little more on the 'rock' aspect of their sound, but they did so without sacrificing any of what made them so great and the opener Knifeman is testament to that fact. Powered by killer riffs and an instantly memorable lyrical statement"I want to be original, I want to be surrounded by art, but everything is digital, the formulas falling apart" this song is a belter.

    Inveigh (III, 2008)

The second track off of III Inveigh is a good ol' Bronx ball tearer.  Joby's riffs collide with Matt's wild melodies and some inspired rhythms to create an immense sound that hits you over the head with all the force they can muster. The post-bridge explosion is some of Matt's best vocal work ever. This song fucking rules. "We taught ourselves to fly" indeed.

    Too Many Devils (IV, 2013)

IV is a weirdly polarizing album amongst The Bronx fans, but it is home to some truly killer songs, including this absolute rager. Don't overthink it, sometimes a killer rock song about having too many devils is all the world or your soul needs.

    The Unholy Hand (IV, 2013)

A kick-ass rock song about raging against the working life and all the bullshit that comes with it, this is included here because yelling "are you the antichrist or the holy ghost?" locked arm in arm with another Bronx fan, as you drip in the sweat of a few hundred others will never be anything other than a great fucking time.

    Two Birds (V, 2017)

One of the more unique qualities of The Bronx is their ability to bridge the gap between straight-up old-school rock and hyper hardcore punk, Two Birds is a great example of the two sides of their sound coming together to create a song that inspires the type of sing-a-longs that both you and your old man can get wholeheartedly into. The snakey riffs are sick too.

    White Shadow (VI, 2021)

Another corker of an opening track from a band that has made a career out of memorable and chaotic openers, White Shadow is The Bronx signature frenetic sound dragged kicking and screaming into 2021. Ooozing confidence while showcasing their ever developing musicality, this song excited fans the minute it dropper and it isn't hard to understand why. This is going to be an absolute riot live. We can't wait to sing that refrain "lock me up, throw away the key" as those big ol' rock riffs and Joey's hectic drums pound us into a sweaty mass of flailing limbs and flying beers. The Bronx still got it.
