The Blood Brothers have officially announced a reunion. The Seattle post-hardcore favourites will return with a run of live performances throughout the USA in November. The tour is timed to coincide with a 20th anniversary reissue of their cult classic LP Crimes. Set for release on October 4, the Crimes reissue process inspired the band to get back out on the road and experience the thrill of playing the songs live again.

Speaking in a press release, vocalist Jordan Billie comments "As we've been putting together the 20th anniversary reissue of ‘Crimes’, what I'm struck by most listening back is the energy. It feels both feral and weirdly focused, like whatever chemistry we'd been tinkering with had finally crystallized."

"It was on stage, though, where that energy reached its most joyful, reckless, collective state. It's an experience that never really goes away, and one we wanted to share again. So, we'll be playing a handful of shows this fall. We hope to see you there.”

Produced by Fugazi's Guy Picciotto, Crimes is considered an essential record by many who hold that '00s post-hardcore era dear, interestingly the poster for the live shows, features lyrics from The Shame from their earlier record Burn, Piano Island, Burn, indicating the setlist for the shows may go beyond the realms of Crimes

The 20th anniversary Crimes reissue will be offered as a 2LP release, featuring B-sides, a new booklet, liner notes and era-specific photographs.  It can be preordered via Epitaph Records now.

In a simpler time, not so long ago, there was only one place online to go, to express yourself and be amongst friends, while wildly wielding your scene cred. It was a place for ranking friends and sweeping fringes, for HTML codes and PC4PC binges, for DeviantArt and musical discovery, it was a bulletin board for all the world to see, the loudest expression of your personality, and central to this pseudo-utopian place, was the profile song on your MySpace.

It gave a generation a voice and they raised a scene, from the underground to the mainstream, if you were a heavy band in the mid-noughties,  it was where you had to be.

So in reverence to this mystical place, we’ve gone and made our own top 8!
