Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg has unveiled a new mask. The reveal took place at Knotfest Japan, with Weinberg's unique new look an instant hit with the maggots in Tokyo. The mask is a collaboration with the Japanese painter Solid Blackline. Weinberg shared information on the collaborative design via a caption on Instagram, revealing the deeper meaning of the design.

"It’s an honor to collaborate with Japanese painter @solid_blackline for my mask this weekend, specially designed for @knotfestjapan. The organic, flowing shapes of his high-contrast designs evoke feelings of mysticism and beauty, balanced within the duality of chaos and order one feels as a visitor in this wondrous country. There’s truly no better way to further immerse ourselves within everything that @knotfestjapan stands for — to share our love for Japan, and its rich artistic culture — than to welcome local talent through collaboration with our own expression through this weekend’s performances."

The latest Knotfest Japan run follows hot off the heels of the sold-out debut of Knotfest Australia. Weinberg recently share some footage of his vantage point of the Knotfest Australia shows, displaying his drumming chops and the magnitude of the crowd of Aussie maggots. Watch the footage below.

To celebrate the success of Knotfest Australia and the arrival of this new mask for Weinberg, we are holding an epic sale on all Slipknot vinyl in the Maniacs store. So head on over and pick up some fresh Slipknot vinyl to see you through to the next Knotfest Australia.

The three-date run of Knotfest Australia was Australian maggot's first opportunity to hear tracks from Slipknot's seventh full-length album The End, So Far and their 2019 record We Are Not Your Kind, with The Dying Song (Time To Sing) from the former and All Out Life and Unsainted from the latter making their live debuts down under at Knotfest Melbourne.

Produced collaboratively by Joe Baressi (Queens Of The Stone AgeSoundgardenAvenged Sevenfold, Parkway Drive) and Slipknot, The End, So Far is the follow-up to Slipknot’s 2019 We Are Not Your Kind which marked the band’s third consecutive #1 on the ARIA album chart.

To celebrate the widely anticipated release we caught up with Slipknot bass player, Alessandro 'V-Man' Venturella for a discussion about all things The End, So Far, if you haven't already, head on over and give it a read.
