It’s that time of year again when innocent metalheads can’t even go to the local supermarket or pub without having our ears attacked by Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You, Wham’s Last Christmas, BandAid's Don’t They Know Its Christmas, or satan forbid, whatever the latest talent comp winners cover of a generic Christmas song is being flogged that year. It’s enough to strip the joy from the festive season and make us all into one big Grinch!
Despite our best efforts to convince the manager to put on that August Burns Red version of Carol Of The Bells, they just won’t do it! It’s a bloody outrage it is!
Well, hope is on the horizon folks and the power is in your hands, as this Christmas, our friends Cover Nation are teaming up with Maniacs to give you the chance to be the change you want to see in the Christmas world! That’s because they’re hosting a special Christmas songs cover contest where entrants can cover their choice of one of eight songs to enter to win a $1000 Amazon gift card and a Virtual Recording Session and metal covers are strongly encouraged!
That’s right musical Maniacs, Cover Nation want you to take one of eight selected Christmas songs and make it as metal as you possibly can! Those eight songs can be found below.

How To Enter
To enter all you need to do is select a song, work out your unique metal cover of it, then upload a full-length video of you playing your cover to YouTube or any other online video platform using the #covernationxmas2021contest in the video description and then share it with Cover Nation via the entry form. Simple, right?
Now, to us, the idea of saving humanity from yet another generic Christmas carol onslaught or an ironic run through of Hanson’s Snowed In is prize enough, but the good people at Cover Nation have decided to award actual real prizes to incentivise your participation.
