Iron Maiden have announced an Australian tour for 2024.

The British heavy metal icons will return to Australia for the first time since 2016 when they bring The Future Past tour to Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland next September. Support on all shows will come from metalcore luminaries Killswitch Engage

The Future Past tour concept sees Iron Maiden include songs from both the band’s most recent studio album Senjutsu as well as 1986’s seminal album Somewhere In Time, alongside other fan favourites. The tour played to over 750,000 fans at more than 30 sold-out shows across Europe in the summer of 2023. Featuring one of the most spectacular stage productions of the band’s career, it received rave reviews in every city and country that Iron Maiden visited.

On the subject of the announcement Iron Maiden's bass player Steve Harris says, “We’ve really enjoyed playing all the shows on THE FUTURE PAST TOUR this year, and the reaction from our fans has been incredible.

Being able to play some of these songs for the very first time has made the tour even more memorable and we can’t wait to continue it next year. We’re all really excited to finally be able to return to Australia as we know our fans have waited so patiently for us over the past few years. It’s going to be great to get back there, especially with this new show. We promise you all, it’ll be worth the wait!”

Manager Rod Smallwood comments, “All our best-laid plans to bring the Legacy Of The Beast Tour to Australia were derailed by the shut-down of the live music industry during covid but we assured everyone at the time that we would come back to Australia and, as our fans know, we always keep to our promises. So, as you would imagine, we’re very much looking forward to bringing this amazing new show to the Southern Hemisphere and giving our loyal Australian fans the best Maiden show we can. You can be assured it’s worth the wait. See you all in 2024!”

Tickets for The Australian run of The Future Past tour go on sale on Tuesday 24 October at 11 am local time. Several pre-sales have been announced with a Telstra Rewards pre-sale for all Australian shows taking place from 11 am local time on Thursday 19 October and a TEG Dainty pre-sale available on Monday 23 October at 11 am local time. Fans can register for further ticketing details here.

Iron Maiden released their 17th studio album Senjutsu in 2021.  On the day of Senjutsu's release, we were granted an audience with a man whose fingerprints were all over that signature Iron Maiden sound, the living legend guitarist Dave Murray about the band's enduring legacy.

Last year, the band celebrated the 40th anniversary of their iconic third full-lengthThe Number of the Beast, releasing special anniversary editions on vinyl and cassette

During out chat with Murray he named the album closer Hallowed Be Thy Name one of his two favourite contributions to Iron Maiden's legacy.   “Oh, well there’s two actually. I love the intro from Hallowed Be Thy Name, it’s always really nice to play that. The second one takes us back to the early ‘80s, and it’s the solo from the song Killers. I remember that we used to play that one live a lot before we actually recorded it and I always really enjoyed playing it back in 1981, and it’s funny but it still stands out to me for some reason now, all these years later. There’s something about that song."

Included in the new vinyl package is Beast Over Hammersmith - available now officially for the very first time on vinyl - featuring the live concert from March 1982’s now legendary Hammersmith Odeon London show from the Beast On The Road World Tour. Recorded only days before the release of The Number Of The Beast album, it's remarkable to think these now classic songs at that time were still brand new, unfamiliar and being heard live by fans for the very first time. A real piece of history in the making.

The package features exclusive liner notes written by Maiden founder and bassist Steve Harris as well as restored and expanded artwork taken from the CD format of Beast Over Hammersmith, previously only available in the Limited Edition Eddie’s Archive boxset originally released in 2002.
