Gainesville, Florida punk legends Hot Water Music have released two new collaborative singles featuring members of Turnstile and Thrice.

Featuring contributions from Brendan Yates and Daniel Fang of hardcore heroes Turnstile (who named their band after the 1997 Hot Water Music song) on the rhythmic rocker Remnants and Thrice on the atmospheric Fences, these two singles continue to illustrate the power that the members of Hot Water Music put forth across this intense and musically daring 12-song showcase.

“‘Remnants’ is a song of friendship and what it means to be a true friend to a person dear to us even through the toughest times of our lives,” the band says.

“These values are based on whether or not we choose to be present for one another when all seems to fall apart.”

Speaking on Fences the band says, “One of the toughest things in life is remembering and recognizing the importance of living in the moment. With so many distractions in our day-to-day lives, it becomes easy to get lost in the noise of this society and lose focus of our true and present purpose.”

The two collaborative singles are lifted from forthcoming album VOWS, the long-standing, influential punk outfit’s brand new album out May 10 via Cooking Vinyl Australia.

The appearance of Turnstile on Remnants is particularly notable as it is one of the first pieces of 'official' new music released involving the band since the release of their gamechanging 2021 full-length Glow On.

The Baltimore hardcore phenoms did debut a pop-punk track titled Listening via an episode of the Netflix series I Think You Should Leave.  Released under the moniker The Everything-You-Knows, Listening is credited to Brendan YatesPat McCroryDaniel Fang and Franz Lyons, the exact same musical collective the world typically knows as Turnstile.

The song, which you can listen to below also features a guest rap from Alexandra Ornelas.

Scoring a beloved Netflix series and now working with Hot Water Music are just the latest examples of how Turnstile's globe-conquering full-length Glow On continues to open up new opportunities for the band. Both moves serve as further proof of the band's desire to explore collaborative opportunities, with vocalist Brendan Yates discussing his fondness for collaboration in an interview with Maniacs in 2021.

"It is always exciting to be able to work with an outside person that's not in the band. It sometimes brings a song to life in a different way,  one that you didn't or couldn’t have imagined in the first place, which is always an exciting thing."

Turnstile were in Australia last year, when they played a memorable run of headline dates in addition to showstopping performances on the Laneway Festival
