    HAMMERFALL

HammerFall have announced their first-ever Australian tour.  The Swedish power metal lords will head to the land down under in January 2025, ending a 27-year-long wait for their fans.  The band have ventured down under once before, for a one-off, exclusive performance in Melbourne in 2015, but this trip will mark their first tour proper.

Speaking in a statement, guitarist Oscar Dronjak shared ‘’We all agreed that one measly show in 27 years is not nearly enough. So we’re coming in full force next year. Brace yourselves for a Heavy Metal celebration the likes of which you have never seen!’’.

Dronjak's excitement is shared by bandmate, vocalist Joacim Cans who commented "We are very excited to bring our particular brand of Heavy Metal to Australia for the first time, and we can’t wait to show you what HammerFall Anno 2025 sounds like!’’.

The tour will visit Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane between Tuesday 14 - Sunday 19 January, 2025.  Tickets for all shows go on sale via The Phoenix on Friday 14 June.

Since forming in Gothenburg, Sweden and releasing their debut album Glory To The Brave in 1997, HammerFall have stormed the gates of heavy music’s pantheon and waved the genre’s flag higher and higher with every subsequent release. The group upholds a venerable legacy with multiple international number ones, gold certifications, sold-out tours, and over 100 million streams and 100 million YouTube views. But it is in a live setting where they outshine their peers and imitators. In true HammerFall fashion, every element becomes dangerously and dramatically amplified. The riffs hit harder. The rhythms thunder louder. The choruses soar closer to the clouds.

The Hammer will strike with force in Australia as HammerFall unleash a setlist full of power-drenched anthems such as Heart’s on Fire, Last Man Standing, Brotherhood, Heeding the Call, Any Means Necessary Hail to the King and so many more. Donning their brightest shining armour, HammerFall will leave their mark on Australia forever by delivering an unforgettable live experience for metalheads across the continent.

The tour will be part of the touring cycle for HammerFall's forthcoming record Avenge The Fallen which is set for release on August 9 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Wednesday 15 January Adelaide, Lion Arts

Friday 17 January  Melbourne, Northcote Theatre

Saturday 18 January  Sydney, Manning Bar

Sunday 19 January Brisbane, The Triffid

The tour by HammerFall will come shortly after legendary classic/power-metal icons Iron Maiden's tour in September.

The British heavy metal icons will return to Australia for the first time since 2016 when they bring The Future Past tour to Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland next September. Support on all shows will come from metalcore luminaries Killswitch Engage.

The Future Past tour concept sees Iron Maiden include songs from both the band’s most recent studio album Senjutsu as well as 1986’s seminal album Somewhere In Time, alongside other fan favourites. The tour played to over 750,000 fans at more than 30 sold-out shows across Europe in the summer of 2023. Featuring one of the most spectacular stage productions of the band’s career, it received rave reviews in every city and country that Iron Maiden visited.

On the subject of the announcement Iron Maiden's bass player Steve Harris says, “We’ve really enjoyed playing all the shows on THE FUTURE PAST TOUR this year, and the reaction from our fans has been incredible. Being able to play some of these songs for the very first time has made the tour even more memorable and we can’t wait to continue it next year. We’re all really excited to finally be able to return to Australia as we know our fans have waited so patiently for us over the past few years. It’s going to be great to get back there, especially with this new show. We promise you all, it’ll be worth the wait!”
