Fever 333 have released a ferocious new anthem $wing. The first song to be released by the Inglewood-based rap-rock project since they unveiled their new lineup, $wing pairs vocalist Jason Aalon Butler's trademark ferocious vocal stylings with a chaotic blend of hardcore and electronica before opening up with a monstrous chorus hook of "Swing batter, batter, swing".
Commenting on the song, Butler states In a system that exploits the aforementioned instruments of power (the people) for financial and political advancement, we must collectively understand and redirect the dynamic once we realize that we are not powerless against it", Butler asserts before adding, '$wing' is a sonic reminder that you are the power that they seek and you are the resource they need."
$wing is the first release by Fever 333 under a new partnership between the band's own imprint 333 Wreckords Crew and Century Media Records with Butler offering his reflections on the new partnership. "I feel very lucky to have entered this partnership with 333 Wreckords Crew and the folks at Century Media for this upcoming album", "I'm calling it right now - we're going to shift a paradigm, or two, regarding how this game gets played and how it tries to play us."
$wing arrives accompanied by a DJay Brawner-directed video which interestingly only features Butler, and not his new Fever 333 bandmates drummer Thomas Pridgen (ex-The Mars Volta/Trash Talk), guitarist Brandon Davis (Lions Lions) and bassist April Kae. It's unknown if they performed on the studio version of the track, but they have played it live on Fever 333's recent live performances. The song is credited as being written by Butler, Joshua Kyle Gilbert and Mike Stringer.

The new additions to Fever 333 replace former drummer Aric Improta (Night Verses)and guitarist Stephen Harrison (The Chariot) who left the group last year. At the time of their departure, Butler confirmed he intended to keep Fever 333 going, with shows planned across the globe over the coming months, the reveal of the new lineup was a crucial step in that process. The new members made their collective debut with Fever 333 earlier this month at the first-ever 'Fever Function' event in South Central, Los Angeles. Footage from the event can be seen below.
The group made an appearance in a video depicting them driving to said function, which is viewable below.
Commenting on the involvement of his new bandmates, Butler shares "This new era of FEVER 333 is beyond even what I could have imagined", Butler says. "The talent, the funk, the passion, and the respect for this project April, Thomas and Brandon have already delivered have shown me, once again, that this project is something more than a band onstage."
Butler shared further detail on the future direction of Fever 333 on H20 vocalist Toby Morse's One Life, One Chance podcast, during the episode, Butler opened up about the role that blink-182's Travis Barker and producer John Feldmann had on the project, as well as diving deep into the activism and charitable intentions that serve as the impetus for Fever 333's continued existence. During that same episode, Butler mentioned the group working in some capacity with the Jay-Z-founded agency ROC Nation, Butler since shared footage of a screen welcoming Fever 333 to ROC Nation and playing at a ROC Nation staff party.
