“Piece Of Time” is the classic debut album by Florida’s ATHEIST and a much revered milestone in the history of progressive metal art and pivotal in laying the foundation of what today is known as technical death metal. From the intricate, jazzy bass lines to vicious vocals, shapeshifting riffs and truly impressive drum patterns, recorded as early as 1988 “Piece Of Time” demonstrated that extreme music could be so much more than just a barrage of noise. This timeless album opened gateways musically and next to bands such as CYNIC and DEATH, belongs in the top tier of the genre and in proper collection!
