Packed with Dark Lords, Sith Lords, and guys literally made of metal, here are 10 more of the most metal movie characters – including a few as suggested by you!

    10. Sauron – Lord of the Rings

J.R.R. Tolkien’s personification of all evil comes in the form of Sauron. He forged the one ring from the fires of Mount Doom, disguised himself as the dark sorcerer known as the Necromancer and then became a giant burning eye that guarded the black gates of Mordor. Sauron is like the Satan of Middle Earth and you don’t get much more metal than that.

    9. Wolverine – X-Men

Although Hugh Jackman spends a lot of his time on Broadway these days, he steps off the stage to play Wolverine in the X-Men film series. Born James Howlett and commonly known as Logan, Wolverine is a mutant who possesses animal-keen senses, enhanced healing abilities and a heavy metal bonded skeleton and claws which make him pretty much immortal.

    8. Venom – Spiderman 3

Venom is Spider-Man’s evil doppelganger brought to life by Topher Grace, who is a blackened, hardcore version of Toby Maguire in Spiderman 3. He’s cold and black with a gaping mouth of razor-sharp teeth and feeds off hatred. Venom is basically a psychotic madman in an alien costume with a tongue that would give Gene Simmons a run for his money.

    7. Blade - Blade

A half-mortal, half-immortal, Blade is played by a mean looking Wesley Snipes in a black leather trench for the Blade film series. Blade is set in a world of technologically advanced vampires who are in search of Blade’s special blood type, which can be used to summon an evil god and exterminate the entire human race – sounds pretty metal.

    6. John Rambo – Rambo

He may look like a juiced up gym junkie but the 80’s locks on Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo in Rambo could have belonged to any member of Metallica in the early days. Rambo is a Vietnam vet who tries to live a quiet life but ends up killing 220 people instead. Creator David Morrell says the name Rambo was inspired by ‘the sound of force’ and by coincidence, the Japanese word ‘ramb’ means ‘violent’.

    5. Lord Voldemort – Harry Potter

‘The Dark Lord’ or ‘He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named’ all sound like adequate names for the frontman of a black metal band. They also belong to Lord Voldemort, the muggle-killing, Harry Potter-hating dark wizard who has a band of hooded followers marked with skull tattoos. He also split his soul into 7 pieces so he could pretty much never die.

    4. Bane – The Dark Knight Rises

Moulded by darkness and trained by the mercenary Ra’s al Ghul, there’s something undeniably brutal about Tom Hardy as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. He was excommunicated from the League of Shadows for being too extreme then set upon Gotham City to unleash hell, and with 90 kilos of solid muscle and a metal face cage, this is one guy you’d probably want to avoid in the mosh.

    3. Pinhead – Hellraiser

Horror master Clive Barker brought us the demonic sadomasochistic hellpriest that is Pinhead through the Hellraiser series. Pinhead leads the cenobites - an extradimensional race of demons that can’t tell the difference between pleasure and pain. Recognised by the scarification of his face and the obvious pins coming out of his head, Pinhead is one of the most metal characters in the horror genre.

    2. Darth Vader – Star Wars

Once a heroic Jedi Knight, Darth Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force and became a Sith Lord. No one’s calling him ‘Ani’ anymore, from leading the Empire’s eradication of the Jedi Order to inspiring a new genre of ‘Star Wars metal’, Darth Vader is without a doubt the most brutal Star Wars character ever.

    1. Terminator – The Terminator

Did you really think we could resist putting the Terminator on a list like this? The Terminator was born from a nightmare that struck an extremely stressed out James Cameron when he was filming the less successful Piranha II. The result - Arnold Schwarzenegger is a cyborg assassin, disguised as a human who travels from the future to 1984 to give zero fucks and assassinate Sarah Connor.
