Bathe in Mayhem's Unholy New Track 'Worthless Abominations Destroyed'

With black metal legends Mayhem having just announced their return with a sixth studio album titled Daemon, we now have the first taste if that record in the form of the crushing new track 'Worthless Abominations Destroyed'.

The first thing to be noticed with this new material is the massive step-up in production quality over previous work, which really makes Hellhammer's drums hit like claps of thunder and bring the band into 2019.

Check out the visualiser below, which is (of course) filled with demonic imagery:

Regarding the more polished sound of the new record, guitarist Teloch had this to say:

“People can call it whatever they want. If it’s black metal to them, then fine. We don’t really care. To me, it’s important to keep some sort of black metal vibe at least...I think this album will be most pleasing for old and new fans. As most of our devoted fans know, Mayhem has never released two albums that sound the same. That’s the case this time around as well.

We simplified stuff, but at the same time tried out some new stuff to keep it interesting for ourselves and, also for our fans that dig that we are doing something new on each album.”

Daemon is out on October 25, and will be the first album Mayhem have put out since Esoteric Warfare in 2014.

    Listen to Mayhem now.
