James Hetfield has been cast in an upcoming western film, 'The Thicket'. An adaptation of the Joe R. Lansdale novel, The Thicket will feature some Hollywood heavy-hitters, with Peter Dinklage producing and starring in the film, alongside Juliette Lewis, Esmé Creed-Miles, Levon Hawke and many more. 

Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine has contributed the 'post-death' metal track 'Machinery Of Torment' to Netflix's new metal coming-of-age story 'Metal Lords'

Game Of Thrones really is the talk of the town with the show's final season now underway, and there has been some pretty cool metal-themed GOT content popping up online.

The Game Of Thrones theme song has become pretty iconic by this point; whether or not you're a fan of the show, you've probably heard it at one point or another.

Those of you with a keen eye might have noticed that the boys from Mastodon made a cheeky appearance in the season finale of Game Of Thrones! This time appearing as wights. Brent Hinds, Bill Kelliher, and Brann Dailor previously appeared briefly on Game Of Thrones back in season 5, and met a rather unfortunate end. It's good to see the guys bounce back. Sort of.
