It was just over a year ago now that We Came As Romans' 28-year old clean vocalist Kyle Pavone passed away, and the band announced that nobody would replace Kyle in the band soon after, leaving Dave Stephens as the sole vocalist in WCAR.
Now, the band have released the first two songs since Pavone's death - the heavy 'Carry The Weight' and the upbeat 'From The First Note', which you can check out below.
Guitarist Joshua Moore told Billboard that the tracks came to be following a tough grapple with grief over the past twelve months. He said:
"It was kind of hard taking all of that grief and depression, that sadness dealing with losing Kyle and trying to turn it into something that is poetic and artistic and that people want to listen to. A lot of comments online will say, 'Oh, I'm glad the band is moving on,' and I always try to correct them and say 'we're moving forward, there's never going to be a moving on."
