Matt Heafy is at it again folks. Mere weeks after debuting his black metal project Ibaraki, the trivium frontman has teamed up with YouTube metal and production megastar, Jonathan Young to contribute a brand new song Tasukete to the soundtrack for Magic The Gathering: Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty.
Watch the video for Tasukete below.
Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty is the latest Magic The Gathering expansion described as "a world where magic meets technology! Neon Dynasty captures the best side of every player, land, character, creature and artifact. In the future: you always look awesome."
Of course this isn't the first time that the modern metal maestro and Twitch celebrity has branched out into the gaming realms, with Trivium teaming up with Elder Scrolls Online to debut the video for The Phalanx off of Trivum's 10th studio album In The Court Of The Dragon last year. You can watch that video below.
Heafy also recently uploaded an acoustic EP featuring reworkings of songs off of In The Court Of The Dragon which you can stream below.
The EP and Tasukete are examples of Heafy's tireless work ethic and off-the-wall creativity levels and follows his recent uploads of covers of tracks from The Witcher and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Trivium released their 10th full-length album In The Court Of The Dragon in October. We spoke to bass player Paulo Gregoletto about making the album and he filled us in on everything else that had been going on in the Trivium camp in 2021.
