Black Sabbath members Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne have reunited onstage to close out the 2022 Commonwealth Games with a Black Sabbath classic. Iommi and Osbourne teamed up with final Black Sabbath drummer Tommy Clufetos and Black Sabbath live member Adam Wakeman for the ripping rendition which featured a dazzling pyrotechnics display.

It was a brilliant performance from the Birmingham band and it gave the 2022 Commonwealth Games closing ceremony an iconic moment.

The performance followed Iommi's participation in the games opening ceremony where he teamed up with saxophonist Soweto Kinch to perform Hear My Voice.

Ozzy Osbourne will release his next solo album on September 9th. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter's new album Patient Number 9 will be his first since his critically acclaimed, worldwide, chart-topping 2020 Ordinary Man release. Patient Number 9 was written by OzzyWatt, Robert Trujillo, Chad Smith and Ali Tamposi and features a riveting solo from legendary guitarist Jeff Beck. The video marks the first collaboration from the project with Emmy-and Grammy-winning director/producer Todd McFarlane. It is highlighted by McFarlane’s signature illustrations interspersed with live Ozzy vignettes in the role of Patient Number 9, which the revolutionary creative force in the world of comics and toys also filmed. In addition, this is the first-ever video to incorporate Ozzy’s artwork: his hand-drawn demons were animated and can be seen during the Jeff Beck solo in the song.

    Ozzy shares

“Having someone like Jeff Beck play on my album is just incredible, a total honor. There’s no other guitar player that plays like him and his solo on Patient Number 9 is just jaw-dropping.”
