    Metal music and knitting aren't exactly two things you see together very often, but Finland have recently taken it upon themselves to host the first-ever Heavy Metal Knitting World Championship, because why the hell not?

    And it looks as though people of all ages got involved; according to AP News, a 35-year-old nurse from Michigan jumped on stage with her 71-year-old mother and 64-year-old family friend, who said that “knitting is such a meditative activity but now it’s energetic and heart pumping.”

    The winners of the event were a Japanese band called Giga Body Metal, who brought up sumo wrestlers to fight in the middle of their performance!

    You can watch a video recap of the event below, which honestly just looks like a really fun and wholesome time for everyone. 

    Finland apparently has the highest number of metal bands per-capita in the world (around 50 bands per 100,000 people), and they've got some pretty great exports of their own like Children Of Bodom, Nightwish, HIM and Apocalyptica to name just a few, so it's fitting that the championship was held there.
