Before Tool, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle, Maynard James Keenan was sharpening his skills in various local bands throughout the mid-late 80's, including being frontman for the post-punk band C.A.D (Children of the Anachronistic Dynasty).
Some new footage has recently surfaced of C.A.D performing on public access TV as part of a Peace Day live broadcast marathon in 1987.
In the clip we can see a visibly young Maynard (around 22-23 years old at the time) howling in a black singlet and sandals, and it's pretty fascinating to watch:
C.A.D also used to play a very early version of Tool's song 'Sober', which Keenan wrote before Tool formed in 1990.
It's always pretty crazy to watch these time capsules and realise how far some of these people have come! Speaking of which, Tool will be undertaking an Australian arena tour in February 2020 - find the details for that right here.
Listen to Tool now.
