Australian heavy fusion rockers, Twelve Foot Ninja have teamed up with Jinjer's Tatiana Shmayluk on the massive new single Over and Out.

Lead singer Kin Etik explains the sonically adventurous and anthemic Over and Out's meaning and inspiration.

The song is an ode to the complicated relationship we have with our own mortality and how death can seem like the arms of a lover beckoning us to an early demise. The French first coined the phrase l'appel du vide which is the feeling of wondering what it would be like to jump in front of a truck or to jump off a cliff. It translates into English as the ‘call of the void’

Over and Out continues a dizzying ascent for the Melbourne metallers who have been riding a virtual wave of two #1 singles on Sirius XM's Liquid Metal, the most recent of which,  Start the Fire was a Top 20 single on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Indicator Chart.  With a song as melodic as Over and Out and a feature from the vocalist of one of the hottest metal bands on the planet, it's not hard to imagine Over and Out reaching even greater heights.

Jinjer's Tatiana Shmayluk obvious excitement made the guest spot a winner from the beginning.

When the TFN guys asked me to feature on one of their new tracks, I immediately said yes without even hearing it! The song and video were a lot of fun and very different from anything I’ve done with JINJER … it’s a great pleasure to be an honorary member of the Twelve Foot Ninja clan now!

From Twelve Foot Ninja's perspective, Shmayluk was the natural choice for the role as Kin Etik elaborates.

We wanted someone who could represent the lyric ‘the devil in my blood’ – both the darkness and the light. Tatiana embodies what we needed for this track perfectly so asking her to feature on it was a no brainer. Her band Jinjer and Twelve Foot Ninja have played together a number of times and we instantly connected the first time we met in the Ukraine capital Kyiv. We’ve since come to respect Tatiana as a musician and as a human so we’re stoked she’s agreed to jump on this track.

Watch the wildly entertaining cinematic video for Over and Out below

Over and Out is our third taste of Twelve Foot Ninja's forthcoming album VENGEANCE  which is due to be released on October 15th along with a high fantasy novel The Wyvern And The Wolf that has been several years in the making.
