Australian heavy heroes Thy Art Is Murder have released another crushing new single from their next album Human Target, which is slated for a July 26 release.

Not a band to shy away from controversy, the new song is titled 'Make America Hate Again'. If the name didn't give it away, it's a politically-charged statement on the current climate in the United States, with vocalist CJ McMahon spitting vicious lines such as "Your leaders are now your enemies" and "We'll make America great again? Fuck you, let's make America hate again".

If that wasn't enough, they've also cheekily released the scathing track on Independence Day.

It's full of absolutely devastating riffs and a visually-stunning music video to boot, which exclusively uses black, white, blue and red to represent the colours of the US flag:

The band's guitarist Andy Marsh elaborates on the track's meaning:

“Whilst we collectively identify as a left leaning band, this song was not written to attack those who sit on the right side of the political sphere, but as a commentary on the tactics employed by both campaigns in the most recent US presidential election. These crusades of social warfare would surely succeed in one result regardless of the victor, making people hate one another.

The blood lust of the political spectator, armed with FoxCNN and an iPhone, was satiated with aggressive slander filled debate and fake radicalized propaganda masquerading as news, where both sides of the field rallied to provoke. Identity politics spread like the wildfires of California, smoking out people of all creeds to be branded as red or blue.

Those on the regressive left may indeed have as much to answer for as their far right opponents for creating a heaving divide in the space of public discourse, and a sustaining sense of animosity among communities around America and abroad.

Polarizing leaders like Trump are, in part, a result of who we have become. Disconnected.”

In case you missed it, you can also check out the first two singles from Human Target'Death Squad Anthem' and the title track.

Thy Art are also playing three shows across Australia next week, which have all sold out:

Thursday, July 11 - The Zoo, Brisbane

Friday, July 12 - Crowbar, Sydney

Saturday, July 13 - The Corner Hotel, Melbourne
