Aussie heavy music icons The Amity Affliction have dropped a heavy new track Death Is All Around and released a new EP Somewhere Beyond The Blue.

The EP's title, Somewhere Beyond The Blue is an extrapolation from a message one of Ahren’s (vocals) close friends SK sent him not long before he sadly took his own life, “I’ll be in space.”
Somewhere Beyond The Blue will include Death Is All Around as well as the previous two singles Like Love and Give Up The Ghost.
Commenting on the release of Death Is All Around the band offered up the following insight.
"We’re deep into a pandemic that won’t go away" says the band, "with lockdowns still happening here in Australia and no touring in sight, it’s a hopeless situation and one that inspired the lyrics in this song."
Speaking with Maniacs earlier this year, vocalist Joel Birch affirmed the band's dedication to using music as a source of catharsis and an avenue for unfiltered emotional honesty.
"Why would any artist want to share something that is inauthentic? I’ve spoken about this countless times over the years and the answer has never changed, music takes on a few forms for artists across all genres: storytelling, catharsis, art, expression, etc. For me, it is catharsis, and so I write about myself and what I know. I have bipolar II, my mind is racing from the moment I wake up to the moment I fall asleep, and music is the place where I get to be quiet, despite the style of music we create. "
