The Amity Affliction did not disappoint fans at their sold out show at Luna Parks Big Top on Saturday Sep 29th. Supported by a killer lineup featuring The Ghost Inside (US), Architects (UK), and local band Buried In Verona, fans were ecstatic as the atmosphere at the Big Top was nothing less than endearing.

With the release of their latest album Chasing Ghosts which debuted at #1 on the ARIA charts, The Amity Affliction went straight to work on a 14-date tour around Australia, playing a number of sold out shows.

The Amity Affliction started their one-hour set with their title track off the new album, Chasing Ghosts. The audience was instantly greeted by a show of lights and music, and was rewarded with confetti cannons at the end of the song. Despite some early technical difficulties with lead vocalist Joel Birchs microphone, the band continued to play their set of new and old favourites. The band played 11 songs in total, mostly playing from Youngbloods and Chasing Ghosts, and track Stairway To Hell from Severed Ties. Birch also addressed the theme of Chasing Ghosts, and thanked fans for their support in the portrayal of the albums message. After many crowd participations in human pyramids and a popular mosh term known as a wall of death, the band finished with the title track of their last album Youngbloods.

The band returned as the crowd demanded an encore that was dedicated to the fans, which saw bassist Ahren Stringer give up his bass during final song Open Letter to a crew member, and dive into the crowd to sing along with the fans. Fans were once again greeted with confetti cannons and were rewarded with an explosive finish from band with the last chorus, Im not searching the sky for a reason to live/cause Ive found beauty right here and the passion to give.

The Amity Affliction will be touring the country again for Soundwave Festival 2013, so if youve managed to get a ticket, be sure not to miss them!
