Lochlan Watt, stalwart of Australian heavy music and host of Triple J's The Racket, has today unveiled his new project with Mike Deslandes (High Tension) called R U N, and their debut single 'For You' can be listened to below.
The track uses a powerful mix of post-black metal and emotive metalcore ala Deafheaven meets The Amity Affliction, and was produced by Deslandes before being sent off to Will Putney (Body Count, Thy Art Is Murder) for mixing and mastering.
Lochlan explains the meaning of the track:
“There are several meanings tied up in 'For You' - it is a song born from extreme emotional pain, but it is also a song that looks forward while standing firm. It wasn't written for others... it was written for the self, and where you take it from there is up to you.”

Lochlan is no stranger to vocal duties, having previously fronted Nuclear Summer and Colossvs, while also filling in on international tours for Thy Art Is Murder and Psycroptic.
