    Sedative - Vile

Western Australian hardcore act Sedative get visceral on their new single Vile. Premiering exclusively via Maniacs today, Vile finds the punishing Perth outfit in crushing form, incorporating elements of slam and metallic hardcore to create a vicious sonic palette that is set to open up pits, nationwide, as soon as the nation itself opens up.

Vile arrives accompanied by a gritty video that was edited and directed by Darkspirit Photography and a statement from the band who issue the following explanation.

"Vile is the 3rd and final standalone single released in Sedative’s debut year. Accompanied by a gritty and viscerally upfront video, this speaks volumes about what ‘Vile’ represents.

With an instrumental approach that can be labelled as nothing short of relentless, incorporating punchy rhythms, down-tempo breaks and the bands intrinsic brand of sampling, balanced elegantly with the harshness of the vocal and lyrical approach, confronting the despondent nature of substance abuse and the negative effects on mind-state and self worth.

This is the last peak of Sedative before their debut record and a grand insight of what’s still to come."

Watch the video for Vile, premiering exclusively via Maniacs today below.

Produced and recorded at Audax Studios and mixed and mastered by Violent Sound, Vile is the third track to drop from Sedative this year following Cough Medicine and No Hard Feelings and serves as a fitting endpoint to a year that has seen them take a proactive approach to the pandemic predicament, taking advantage of the travel bubble between SA and WA to travel from Perth to Adelaide to play Catalyst's EP Launch at The Rhino Room with Relapse and I, The Nomad and supported Adelaide Heavyweights FALCIFER in Perth at Lynott's Lounge with ShatteredNASMA and Our Demise.

Sonically ranging from slam to modern metallic hardcore, and touching on themes such as despondency, grief and personal turmoil, Sedative seek to create a viscerally confronting atmosphere in their music through exploration of heavy themes, as well as creative and unique twists on the tropes of modern heavy music.

Sedative are Matthew Daly (Vocals), Raphael Abadi (Guitar), Ryan Spencer (Bass/Vocals) and Nathan Wolfenden (Drums).

Vile is out Friday 3rd December on all digital outlets.
