Melbourne's NTH RD blend brutality and melody on Wearing Thin.
Watch the video premiering exclusively on Maniacs today.

Melbourne based alt-metal outfit NTH RD have been patiently refining their sound behind closed doors since 2017,  arriving at a sonic palette that simultaneously feels deeply personal, as well as passionately anthemic. The band seamlessly weaves themes of loss, mental health and relationships amidst chaotic, often brutally crushing riffs and breathy atmosphere, culminating in their explosive new single Wearing Thin.

Premiering exclusively via Maniacs today, Wearing Thin draws inspiration from the burgeoning Australian metalcore scene, utilising the band's familiarity with nu metal and alternative music to create something truly unique. Wearing Thin demonstrates this fusion in spades, setting vocalist Jordan Kellaway’s soaring vocals as a stark contrast to the down-tuned rock riffs provided by Billy Balassis
A protégé of Australian hard rock legend Jimi Hocking of the Screaming Jets, Balassis axe work on Wearing Thin gives the band a distinctive point of difference.

Inspired to draw influence from a heavier, more substantive place as they battled the COVID-19 pandemic and its seemingly never-ending impacts on their hometown, NTH RD  fused their familiar rock sensibilities with the brutal, down-tuned riffs of nu-metalcore and metalcore, and in the process found a sound entirely their own. The Christopher Vernon (Belle Haven, Better Half), produced Wearing Thin is the first track from an upcoming album that will explore the ever-present feeling of claustrophobia and panic.

    nth rd single

Featuring a lyrical collaboration between bassist Lucas Banim and vocalist Jordan Kellaway, syncopated by the brutal accuracy of drummer John Mihaloudakis’ precise and powerful rhythms, it’s a track that will have you in goosebumps from beginning to end, created with an electrifying live show at the forefront of the group's minds.

Hungry, and eager to show the world the fruits of their labour, Wearing Thin is NTH RD’s new calling card, a constant reminder to keep your ears peeled for what is to come.

Wearing Thin will be out via all digital service providers this coming Friday 4th February.
