It was just over two years ago now that Sydney's Polaris emerged as front runners in Australia's heavy scene with their immense debut LP The Mortal Coil, which catapulted them onto huge tours both at home and abroad.

But Polaris have another record on the way, and they've unleashed the first taste of things to come with the new single 'MASOCHIST', which you can check out below.

The track was recorded in the same studio that was used for their first record The Mortal Coil back in the band's hometown of Mollymook, NSW, with drummer/songwriter Daniel Furnari explaining:

"We had a very clear vision from the start of what we wanted to do with this song - something that straddled the line between our more metalcore sound and the emo and pop-punk tracks we grew up on, with some new textures in the verses, a big singalong chorus and just enough riffs woven in."

There's no other information on a new album just yet, but there will most likely be some news on that front moving closer to their appearance at Unify 2020.

    Listen to Polaris now.
