For the last couple of months, we've been following Korn frontman Jonathan Davis' 'Through The Black Labyrinth' webisodes which take a fascinating look at the writing and recording process behind his debut solo album Black Labyrinth. The eighth episode goes for something a little bit different, where he looks back at his old solo act Jonathan Davis and the SFA (Simply Fucking Amazings) before its guitarist Shane Gibson passed away in 2014, leading to the band's dissolution.
The video shows snippets from a performance at Download Festival way back in 2008, along with Davis reminiscing about each member:
"The SFA became nicknamed by my old friend the Simply Fucking Amazings because the level of musicianship...all of these guys, no joke, they came in right away on the first day of rehearsal with sheet music. They already had sheet music printed out and they just read it. And I just knew from then that I had some badass musicians."
A few of the members including master violinist L. Shankar contributed to Black Labyrinth when it was recorded last year. You can watch the episode below:
