New York metal/electronic/synthwave trio Infinity Shred have just dropped a new six-song EP called EP002 (Recovery), and it's a fantastic journey through a forest of cybernetic electronica, punctuated with heavy-hitting bursts of progressive metal!

There's a ton of ambience, layers and textures to absorb, making it a great listen with a good pair of headphones. The band say of this new release:

“Written during a time of rapid and tumultuous personal change for all members of the band, EP002 (Recovery) is an introspective journey through learning to stop hating yourself. Rejecting the hollow positivity of gym wall mantras espoused by lifestyle influencers and soul cycle instructors alike, Recovery focuses not on needing to be stronger than you were the day before but on the power of acceptance. Through cycles of rest and intensity the band indulge in their own extremes: euphoric electronics, cathartic metal and meditative ambience.”

Take a listen to the single 'Was' below, and take a walk through a warm and fuzzy world of lush electronics and heavy guitars:

Infinity Shred formed in 2012 and have released four full-length albums to date. Their first EP titled EP001 (Gnar Dream) was released way back in 2012!
