    Friday Fire - Jinjer

It's Friday, Friday, got to get your fresh metal fix on Friday.  That's right Maniacs it is finally Friday which means it is time to kick off the weekend with some Friday Fire.

With so many new metal releases dropping every week, it can be hard to know what to listen to, so we've taken it upon ourselves to do the heavy lifting, sorting the 'hell yeah' from the 'hell meh' you don't have to.  So without fear or favour, here are is our Friday Fire: Five New Tracks We're Feeling This Friday.

Wage War - Circle The Drain

The new single from the Florida hard-rock fivesome follows High Horse as our second taste of their upcoming album Manic out October 1st via Fearless Records.  Speaking about Circle The Drain the band says

Circle the Drain is a song about learning from past mistakes and accepting responsibility in a world that needs change," the band shares. "It starts with us deciding to be a part of the solution

Sabaton ft. Tina Guo - Steel Commanders

Video games and Sabaton just work so well together, so it was with geeky gamer glee that we pressed play on the video for this new track from the Swedish battle metallers. The video features the band performing in the middle of some epic World of Tanks battles! It's part of a collaboration between the band and World of Tanks that will see the band be an active part of an in-game event featuring the first-ever Tier IX Premium tank, complete with the band as crew members! The track itself is pure fire! The band offered their thoughts on the collab.

It’s been a great experience working with the World of Tanks and Wargaming guys on this huge project. Together, we made an epic music video for ‘Steel Commanders’ and it’s the perfect way to kick off our massive collaboration

    Spiritbox - Hurt You

Spiritbox are inarguably THE hottest name in the metalcore world at the moment and with Hurt You, they showcase why.  Seamlessly blending mammoth metalcore soundscapes with Courtney LaPlante's powerful melodic hooks, Spiritbox conjures a menacing aura that matches the haunting narrative of destructive co-dependency, as guitarist Mike Stringer explained.

'Hurt You' is a song that was written before the pandemic, in early 2020 during a snowstorm. We were stuck inside, and couldn’t go anywhere, so this song flowed out of myself, Courtney, and our producer Dan pretty quick. The subject matter of the song explores toxic co-dependency, and the feeling of knowing that something is doomed to fail, but making the choice to go down with the ship. The video, directed by Dylan Hryciuk, is horror inspired, and depicts love in four different acts. It’s the first video we’ve made where we do not make an appearance, and allow the story to be the main focus.

Exodus- The Beatings Will Continue (Until Morale Improves)

Bay Area Thrash originators Exodus carries on doing what they've always done on The Beatings Will Continue (Until Morale Improves) combining the thrashiest riffs with the bloodiest lyrics in a good-natured all-out assault on the senses.  The first taste of Exodus upcoming 11th studio record Persona Non Grata, which will drop via Nuclear Blast on November 19th. The video is a total blast and showcases exactly what it is that makes Exodus a Maniacs favourite.  Legendary guitarist Gary Holt offered his insight on the track.

'After what seems like an eon, we now have the debut of our first single, 'The Beatings Will Continue (Until Morale Improves)'. I’m so jacked up for this and the release of Persona Non GrataLet’s get the bloodletting started!

    Jinjer- Wallflower

Jinjer dropped one of the most anticipated metal albums of the year today in the form of Wallflower, to celebrate the Ukrainian metalcore maestros have released the video for the hypnotic, slow-building title track. Directed by Basil Pereverzev, it features vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk avoiding several assailants while protecting a mysterious box, in a thrilling ride to find somewhere to reveal its invaluable contents. It's an epic showcase of what the band has revealed to Loudwire was a transformative song in their repertoire.

'Wallflower' is one of a kind. This is a song we have lived through time and time again. Every single note, every percussion hit, every word Tatiana sings is well-thought through and shines. And the story which rolls out in the video is the best compliment to this song. Definitely the most multilayered work we have delivered sonically and visually. We hope that our fans can also relate the video and take something meaningful from it as well.
