Foo Fighters have released a thrashy, death-metal inspired new song March Of The Insane.  Credited to their new alter-ego's Dream Widow, March Of The Insane is easily the most metal thing the Foo's have released. March Of The Insane is lifted from the soundtrack for the Foo Fighter's very own horror-comedy, Studio 666 which will hit theatres for a select run from February 25th.

The quality of March Of The Insane is undeniable and showcases the level of musicality present in the mighty Foo Fighters lineup.  March Of The Insane is said to be one of the tracks off of Dream Widow's never-released self-titled debut album, which has all of us at Maniacs hoping that we might hear the rest when Studio 666 opens!

Watch the first taste of Studio 666 including Dave Grohl decapitating someone with a god damn cymbal below.

Studio 666 tells the story of Dave Grohl suffering every musician's nemesis, writer's block, as he tries to write songs for their 10th studio album. He is then possessed by a demonic entity and unleashes all that demon power and frustration out on his bandmates all at once.

With a title like Studio 666 and appearances by the likes of Kerry King of Slayer and Mr 'Dancing on the ceiling' himself Lionel Richie the B-grade horror/comedy will no doubt bring a little bit of cinematic spice to our metal realms.  The presence of Will ForteJenna Ortega and Jeff Garlin alongside the band and a host of guests, gives us confidence that at least some of the acting might be quality too!

If this Dream Widow track and talk of Studio 666 has put you in the mood for a good spook, check out our list of the 13 scariest metal video clips!

We'll leave you with the last time Dave Grohl played a demon in a film, the classic video for Tenacious D's Tribute!
