DOOM's Composer Mick Gordon is Creating a 'Metal Choir' For an Upcoming Game

When the 2016 remake of the iconic video game DOOM was released, one of its big wow factors was in the soundtrack, which combined dark industrial metal with electronic and djent influences to give us the perfect soundscape for splattering demons.

Created by Australian composer Mick Gordon, it appears as though he's begun working on music for the game's sequel DOOM Eternal, and he's gonna take things to the next level with a metal choir.

In a new YouTube video, Mick explains his vision for the choir, and asks for anyone with a killer scream to send him their demos:

"I really want to record a choir. But for this project, I don’t want to record a regular choir; I want to record a choir made up entirely of heavy metal screamers. To the best of my knowledge, I don’t believe this has ever been done before. Therefore, here is an open invitation to anyone out there who wants to apply to join our heavy metal choir. As long as you have a killer metal scream, I want you."

Unfortunately, the conditions of needing to travel to Texas will rule most of us out. But, if this is absolutely your calling, what are you waiting for? Send in your demo and you could appear on the next DOOM game!

You can also grab the original DOOM's soundtrack in a glorious, bright red 2LP package right here on our Maniacs store!
