Disturbed have dropped a new single and video, Hey You. The first new music from the band since 2018's Evolution, Hey You is an old-school Disturbed style rager with something to say about how divided the world has become. Vocalist David Draiman shares that the track is intended as a very loud, very intentional wake-up call.

"It’s a wake-up call. We’ve become our own worst enemies. Civil discourse has become the exception instead of the norm. People have lost themselves in outrage addiction."

The band have also revealed that they have a new album coming later this year. Further details on the album are yet to be released but if Hey You is anything to judge it by, it will be an angry affair.

The arrival of Hey You is another milestone in a monumental career and follows a string of recent impressive accreditations from the Recording Industry Association of America.  Their 2008 album Indestructible was just certified 2X Multi-Platinum, while several songs in the band’s catalogue were also recently certified, including Down With The Sickness (6X Multi-Platinum Digital Single) The Sound of Silence (7X Multi-Platinum Digital Single), Stupify (Gold & Platinum Digital Single), Stricken (2X Platinum & Multi-Platinum Digital Single), Inside The Fire (Platinum) and Land of Confusion (Gold & Platinum Digital Single).

The band has also accomplished the rare feat of achieving five consecutive number one debuts on the Billboard Top 200. That accolade historically elevated them to rarified air alongside Metallica, the only other hard rock group to do so in the history of the chart.

Since their formation in 1996, the band has sold 16 million albums globally and scored twelve No. 1 singles on US Active Rock Radio. Their 2000 debut, The Sickness, formally announced their arrival as hard rock leaders, take a trip down memory lane by watching the video below and try to fight the urge to make THAT noise.

The band's mascot The Guy also recently notched up an impressive achievement of his own, teaming up with Iron Maiden's mascot Eddie in the online video game Legacy Of The Beast. He also appears in a new guise on the cover for Hey You, which you can see below.
