While Deftones' 9th album Ohms is only a week away, they've just made the wait seem like that much longer with the release of the album's insane opening track 'Genesis'!

The heavy new cut starts off with brooding clean guitar over a buzzing synth, until Abe Cunningham ushers in a hard-hitting and downtuned groove with two clicks of his drumsticks. It's a song that should have no problem pleasing fans of Diamond Eyes, Koi No Yokan and their 2003 self-titled effort, and Chino Moreno's blood-curdling screams are back in full effect too, giving the whole thing a dark, sexual and ethereal energy that Deftones are so good at pulling off.

The video sees the band ripping through the track with some wavy, black-and-white effects - watch it below:

'Genesis' is now the second single to be revealed from Ohms, with the title track (and album's closer) available too.

Deftones returned to producer Terry Date for this outing, who worked with the band on their most seminal albums including Around The Fur and White Pony.

This year also marks the 20-year anniversary of Deftones' monumental album White Pony. In a virtual press conference for the 20th anniversary of the seminal body of work, the band announced that they would be releasing a companion remix album titled Black Stallion, an idea conceived during the original album’s creation.
