The InterruptersIt's Friday, Friday, got to get your fresh metal fix on Friday.  That's right Maniacs it is finally Friday which means it is time to kick off the weekend with some Friday Fire

With so many new metal releases dropping every week, it can be hard to know what to listen to, so we've taken it upon ourselves to do the heavy lifting, sorting the 'hell yeah' from the 'hell meh' you don't have to. Now, let's light up the Friday Fire!

Friday Fire: Five Tracks We're Feeling This Friday 5th August

The Interrupters - Raised By Wolves

Los Angeles band, The Interrupters just dropped their eagerly-awaited fourth studio album In The Wild via Hellcat/Epitaph Records. In The Wild arrives alongside the video for single Raised By Wolves. Raised By Wovles is slice of everything that is real and true about The Interrupters.

Vocalist Amy Interrupter shares "In my formative years, I grew up with a lot of turmoil and abuse in the house. I had no consistent parental figures to turn to and I couldn’t trust anyone." “I ended up in a foster home and moved around a lot throughout my childhood. This set the stage for many missteps in my life. I truly feel that I was raised by wolves… in the wild. This song is me coming to terms with that and forgiving those who I expected to be there for me, while also forgiving myself."

I AM - Surrender To The Blade

Texas death thrashers I AM today Surrender To The Blade the track comes off the band’s Eternal Steel full-length, set to drop September 9th and it is another example of why this band is going to turn heads when they hit the country for the stacked Thy Art Is Murder Human Target tour.

Guitarist Tom Reyes shares a bit of info on the tracks composition “When I sat down and that first riff came out, immediately the idea was to just make a metal head banging anthem. Nothing flashy or complex, we just wanted it to sound huge and capture a good groove."

    Alter Bridge - Silver Tongue

On the heels of their recently-announced seventh studio album Pawns & Kingsacclaimed rockers Alter Bridge have released the lead single, the metal-leaning track Silver Tongue.  Known for the signature dual-guitar attack that is backed by a driving rhythm section, Silver Tongue is one of the harder songs in the band’s recent catalog. The quartet comprised of Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums have delivered an infectious metal song and an instant classic in the Alter Bridge canon.

    Malevolence - Higher Place

With their critically acclaimed new studio album, Malicious Intent, Malevolence have staked out their place as one of contemporary metal's heavyweight acts. Showing off their creative breadth, the single breaks with their usual aggressive metal swagger Higher Place is a show stopping, southern groove flavoured ballad. Front-man Alex Taylor commented,

"Higher Place focuses on a subject which everyone will deal with at some point in loss; death/bereavement. This is one most heartfelt songs we have written as a band, however once we began writing this song, it came together very naturally. This song is a huge step outside our comfort zone, we hope you enjoy it! The visuals for this song was our first venture into a narrative driven video, filmed in our hometown of Sheffield. We worked closely with Enon Films to bring the concept to life."

Amon Amarth - Find A Way Or Make One

The brand new album from undisputed kings of Viking heavy metal, Amon Amarth - The Great Heathen Army has finally landed today via Metal Blade Records. To celebrate the release of their twelfth studio album, Amon Amarth have also released the official music video for brand new track Find A Way Or Make One. Speaking on the release of their latest opus, Amon Amarth share "Heathens! The time is here for the arrival of The Great Heathen Army! This record has many elements that make up Amon Amarth in 2022, from the dark and brutal death metal of "Oden Owns You All" to the sing-along of "Heidrun" to Biff Byford’s amazing guest vocals on "Saxons and Vikings" and much more. We're ready to take this record around the world for a two year raid and we'll see you soon at the shows."

Elaborating on the video for brand new track, the band continue "We did this video with director Mikis Fontagnier in Frankfurt, Germany and with it we wanted to try something different. This video is our take on the style of some of our favorite videos we grew up on as kids, like Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and Motorhead’s “Killed By Death”. We had some fun making this and it was definitely fun to smash up a stale old business office!"
