Throughout the lockdowns, Trivium vocalist, Matt Heafy has kept his creative juices flowing in a variety of ways. From launching a new guitar line to some unique covers including this K-Pop banger and now adding a brutal twist to the infamous 80s ballad, Right Here Waiting.  What's even cooler is that it's actually a duet with song's original singer, Richard Marx.

Heafy explained how the collab came to be via the Bringing It Backwards podcast, "I saw his son was wearing a Trivium shirt so I hit him up on social media."  The track was mixed by Will Putney of Fit For An Autopsy and features clean vocals from Marx, screams from Heafy and a ton of blast beats.

Heafy doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon as he also revealed he's working on a number of other projects including an album from his Japanese death metal side-project and has also been working on a collaboration with Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda.  All of this on top of continuing to stream weekly on his Twitch channel which he's had for over four years.

Considering the OG version of Right Here Waiting is a popular wedding song, we thing the heavy rendition might the perfect tune for a metalhead couple's first dance.
