To celebrate the release of their new album 'VOWS', Maniacs sat down with Jason Black, one of the most universally respected bass players in punk rock, for a chat about what drives Hot Water Music to continue to look to the future, when so many of their contemporaries are transfixed by the past.
In a few short weeks, Californian post-hardcore/rock luminaries Thrice will turn back the clock to 2003 when they perform their iconic third album 'The Artist In The Ambulance' in full to sold-out rooms across the country. Prior to the band hitting our shores we caught up with drummer Riley Breckenridge to discuss the record's enduring legacy and the motivation behind the recently released 20th anniversary re-recording.
Thrice have released a re-recorded version of their 2003 scene classic The Artist In The Ambulance. Streaming now, The Artist In The Ambulance (Revisited) features reworkings of every song on the record, bringing them more in line with the way the band performs the tracks live in their current state.
The Artist In The Ambulance (Revisited) also features guest appearances from a variety of established acts including Sam Carter of Architects (Under A Killing Moon), Andy Hull of Manchester Orchestra (Stare At The Sun), Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music (Blood Clots and Black Holes) and Ryan Osterman of Holy Fawn (Paper Tigers).
With their newest album Palms out in just under two weeks on September 14, post-hardcore stalwarts Thrice have announced that they will be touring our shores in February next year across the five major cities.
Post-hardcore veterans Thrice have been putting out solid records for almost two decades now, and continue to evolve their sound upon each successive release. With their tenth studio LP Palms due out on September 14, the band have released a second single called 'Only Us', a song which might be their boldest change in sound to date.
